Article I: Name

The organization is Club America at Laguna Hills High School. It operates as a chapter of the national Club America program.

Article II: Purpose

The purpose of this chapter is to help students learn about freedom, free markets, and limited government through respectful discussion and civic engagement projects.

The club is educational and nonpartisan. It does not support or oppose political candidates, campaigns, or political parties.

Article III: Membership

Membership is open to all currently enrolled LHHS students who support the mission and follow school policies.

The chapter does not discriminate based on race, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or any protected status.

Article IV: Officers

The chapter will maintain the following officer positions:

  • President
    Leads meetings, sets goals, oversees operations, and serves as the main contact for the advisor and Club America field representative.
  • Vice President
    Assists the President, helps plan meetings and events, and supports coordination and elections.
  • Secretary
    Manages rosters, meeting minutes, reminders, and communication timelines.
  • Ambassador
    Handles outreach, assists with recruitment, maintains external communication, and helps represent the chapter to other groups on campus or in the community.

Additional positions may be added if needed. Officers must be students in good standing.

Article V: Meetings

Regular meetings will take place during the school year at times approved by school administration.

A quorum for conducting official business requires a majority of officers.

Article VI: Elections

Officer elections will occur once per year, typically during the spring semester.

Active members present will vote using a simple majority.

Election procedures will be announced at least one regular meeting before voting.

Article VII: Finances

All financial activity will follow LHHS and ASB rules.

If funds are collected, they must be deposited and managed through school procedures.

The chapter does not operate independent bank accounts.

Article VIII: Amendments

Any officer or a petition of five active members may propose an amendment.

A two thirds vote at a meeting with quorum is required.

Amendments must also meet any approval requirements set by the school.
